John Jefferson (Jeff) Edwards, Sr. of Nashville, Tennessee, born on September 4, 1939, in Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on August 4, 2017.



He is preceded in passing by his parents, E. Harold and Celia Walton Edwards.



He is survived by his wife, Julianne M. Edwards; his sisters, Celia (Cela) E. Callaway, Healdsburg, CA, and Ruth W. Edwards, Charleston, SC; his children, Celia E. Jackson (Michael), Athens, AL, Angela W. Edwards, Nashville, TN, J. Jefferson Edwards, II (Tisha Godman), Sevenoaks, England, and Erin G. Edwards, Columbus, OH; his grandchildren, Matthew B. He is survived by his wife, Julianne M. Edwards; his sisters, Celia (Cela) E. Callaway, Healdsburg, CA, and Ruth W. Edwards, Charleston, SC; his children, Celia E. Jackson (Michael), Athens, AL, Angela W. Edwards, Nashville, TN, J. Jefferson Edwards, II (Tisha Godman), Sevenoaks, England, and Erin G. Edwards, Columbus, OH; his grandchildren, Matthew B. Jackson (Dana), Daegu, South Korea, Emily J. Heinkel (Dan), Nashville, TN, Lily G. Jackson, Auburn, AL, Siena E. Trehy, Baltimore, MD, Fenn E. Trehy, Nashville, TN, Khue R. Edwards, Sevenoaks, England, and Lachlan H. Edwards, Sevenoaks, England.



Mr. Edwards graduated in the class of 1957 from Montgomery Bell Academy, after which he attended Vanderbilt University.



Mr. Edwards was married to Faye S. Wiley, with whom he had four children. He met his current wife, Julianne McAdams, in 1999, and they married on September 21, 2000. They lived in Nashville until 2010 and then moved to Sarasota, FL, for 5 years, moving back to Nashville in 2015.



Mr. Edwards was a Commercial Mortgage Broker and Vice President with Fleet Mortgage, Guaranty Mortgage, and Mellon Mortgage, retiring in 1999. He was former President of the Mortgage Bankers’ Association of TN, and won numerous sales awards with his companies.



Mr. Edwards loved playing tennis and golfing with friends. He was an avid fan of Vanderbilt Athletics and the Tennessee Titans. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.



Friends and family will gather at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Monday, August 7, 2017, from four to eight o’clock in the evening for visitation. Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at eleven-thirty, with visitation an hour prior. Mr. Edwards will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia, TN.
